The Border Security Force (BSF) has announced several recruitments for Constable positions in 2025, with the major one being for Constable Tradesmen.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet these basics:
- Education: 10th pass from a recognized board, plus ITI certificate or 1-2 years experience in the relevant trade (for tradesmen). For GD, just 10th pass.
- Age Limit: 18–25 years (as of August 25, 2025, for Tradesmen; similar for GD). Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and more for ex-servicemen or border residents.
- Physical Standards: Height (males: 165–170 cm, females: 155–157 cm, varies by category), chest for males (77–82 cm), and good eyesight.
- Nationality: Indian citizens only.
- Other: No criminal record, physically fit.
Women candidates get reservations, and there are quotas for SC/ST/OBC/EWS.
Salary and Benefits
- Pay Scale: Level 3 (Rs. 21,700–69,100) as per 7th CPC.
- Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, plus field posting perks.
- Total Starting Salary: Around Rs. 35,000–40,000 per month (including allowances), depending on location.
- Benefits: Pension, medical facilities, leave, and promotion opportunities to higher ranks.

Application Process
- For Tradesmen:Online at rectt.bsf.gov.in. Pay the fee (Rs. 100 for Gen/OBC/EWS, free for others), and upload a photo, signature, and documents like the 10th marksheet and ITI certificate.
- For GD Rally: Appear in person at designated centers in Meghalaya with a filled form, Aadhaar, marksheets, and photos. No online application.
- Fee: Rs. 100 (online via UPI/Net Banking for tradesmen).
If you missed the Tradesmen deadline, watch for reopenings or new notifications.
Selection Process
- Written Exam: 100-mark objective test on general awareness, math, reasoning, and trade knowledge.
- Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, chest measurement.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running (1.6 km for males in 6.5 min, 800 m for females in 4 min), long jump, and high jump.
- Trade Test: Practical skills in the chosen trade.
- Medical Exam: Final health check.
- Document Verification.
The merit list is based on scores; training follows selection.
